The Training School is planned for 5 days, with five hours of training per day;
An introduction to the wave measurement devices and techniques.
Global wave data sources.
Introduction to numerical wave modelling in offshore and coastal (shallow water) areas.
Description and modelling of wave climate
Estimation of design (extreme) waves: Methods, effects of wave directionality, multivariate extremes
Wave energy converters and technologies, including offshore and on-shore technologies/ devices
Comparative evaluation of WECs.
Innovative designs of hybrid wind – wave energy systems.
Introduction to the main principles of the hydrodynamic analysis of wave energy devices and arrays.
Environmental effects of wave energy devices and systems according to the specific device type/technology and the area of interest.
