STSM at EPhysLab in Oursense, Spain

During the first grant period 7 Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) grants were awarded. Two of them were conducted at the Environmental Physics Laboratory (EPhysLab) of the University of Vigo, campus Ourense (Spain) by Nicolas Quartier and Timothy Vervaet, from 25 February to 15 March 2019. The research team of Prof. Moncho Gomez Gesteira, Dr. Alejandro Jacobo Cabrera Crespo and Dr. José Manuel Domínguez introduced them to the background of the open-source Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) solver DualSPHysics and how it can be applied to wave energy applications. This STSM contributes to the objectives of Working Group 1Numerical hydrodynamic modelling for WECs, WEC arrays/farms and wave energy resources.
