OPIN Workshop: Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Focus on composite materials, 12 November 2019, Nantes, France

As part of the OPIN project, WEAMEC will organize a free workshop on Advanced Materials and Manufacturing (composites focus) on 12th November 2019 in Nantes.

​

This workshop will provide developers, operators and tech providers with an update on the latest advances in materials and manufacturing, with a particular focus on composites. The workshop will provide an update for the technology in areas such as Research, Training and Innovation as it relates to the marine renewable energy sector.

​

The workshop will be in English (presentations, discussions and visits). An indicative agenda is provided below:

  • 9:30-10:30 Applications and needs from the industrial sector
     

  • Presentations from Sabella, Bureau Veritas, other speakers to be confirmed
     

  • 10:30-11:00 Coffee break

  • 11:00-12:15 Latest news from the academic research
     

  • Presentations from University of Edinburgh, Centrale Nantes, Sandia National Laboratories, Université de Nantes, ICAM
     

  • 12:15-13:30 Lunch Break

  • 13:30-14:30 Manufacturing and cross-sector considerations
     

  • Presentations from IRT Jules Verne, LoireTech, EireComposites, Multiplast/Carboman
     

  • 14:30-15:00 Wrap-up

  • 15:00-18:00 Technical visits IRT Jules Verne research center and LoireTech composites manufacturing facility
